昭和 [しょうわ shou wa] = Showa era in Japan (1926–1989)
昭和元年 [しょうわ がんねん shou wa gan nen] = the year 1926, the first year of the Showa era
※元年(がんねん gan nen) means the first year.
昭和5年 [しょうわ ごねん shou wa go nen] = the year 1930
昭和10年 [しょうわ じゅうねん shou wa juu nen] = the year 1935
※昭和の年に２５を足すと、西暦の下２桁になります。
例えば昭和１０年は、
昭和１０年 ＋ ２５ ＝ (１９)３５
なので１９３５年です。
しょうわのとしに２５(にじゅうご)をたすと、せいれきのしもふたけたになります。たとえばしょうわ１０(じゅう)ねんは、
しょうわ１０ねん ＋ ２５ ＝ (１９)３５
なので１９３５(せん きゅうひゃく さんじゅう ご)ねんです。
If you add 25 to the year of Showa, you can get the last two digits of A.D..
For example, Showa 10(juu) nen is 1935 A.D., because
Showa 10 nen ＋ 25 ＝ (19)35.
