New Year’s cardのことを、日本語で年賀状と言います。
New Year’s cardのことを、にほんごでねんがじょうといいます。
New Year’s card is “年賀状(ねんがじょう nen ga jou)” in Japanese.
今回の記事のタイトルと、年賀状に使っている言葉を1つずつ解説します。
こんかいのきじのタイトルと、ねんがじょうにつかっていることばをひとつずつかいせつします。
I explain every word used in this article’s title and “nen ga jou” one by one.

謹賀新年 [きんが しんねん kin ga shin nen]
慶春 [けいしゅん kei shun]
= Happy New Year
この「謹賀新年」や「慶春」のことを「賀詞」と言います。お祝いを表す言葉という意味です。
この「謹賀新年(きんが しんねん)」や「慶春(けいしゅん)」 のことを「賀詞(がし)」といいます。おいわいをあらわすことばといういみです。
These 謹賀新年(kin ga shin nen) and 慶春(kei shun) are called 賀詞(ga shi). 賀詞 means “congratulatory message”.

日本には、各年を12種類の動物で表す習慣があります。
にほんには、かくとしをじゅうにしゅるいのどうぶつであらわすしゅうかんがあります。
Japan has a custom to express every year with 12 animals.
これを十二支と言い、元々は中国の文化です。
これをじゅうにしといい、もともとはちゅうごくのぶんかです。
This is called “juu ni shi(= twelve zodiac signs)” in Japanese, which is originally Chinese culture.
2021年は丑年です。「うし」の漢字は、普通は「牛」と書きますが、この十二支の場合のみ「丑」を使います。
にせん にじゅういちねん はうしどしです。「うし」のかんじは、ふつうは「牛(うし)」とかきますが、このじゅうにしのばあいのみ「丑(うし)」をつかいます。
2021 is the year of the ox. You usually write 牛(ushi) to express “ox” in kanji, but 丑(ushi) is used only in the case of this “juu ni shi”.

1月1日の朝を表す言葉です。
いちがつ ついたち のあさをあらわすことばです。
This means “the morning of January 1st”.
